In 1988 I was asked to take a Brittany as
a favour. At the time I was breeding American Cockers. After
researching the breed and breeders of this wonderful dog,
I fell in love. I have been breeding Brittanys ever since.
With the help of a few recognized breeders, I have developed
a line of Brittanys that are outstanding in the conformation
ring and in the field as well, but most important to me, I
am striving for the perfect companion. Our dogs have that
soft loving temperament that the Brittany is so loved for.
I am past President and secretary of the Brittany Spaniel
Club of Ontario. I am also a Director for the Brittany Spaniel
Club of Canada.

| Muskoka Therapy Dog Program volunteer
Susan McCullock and her 9 yr. old Brittany, (Hiddencreek's
Ceilidh Skye) "Ceilidh" have happily visited
seniors for the past three years.
"Muskoka Therapy Dog Program", is a service
run by the St. John's Ambulance Service. |

The program sees people friendly dogs of all sizes and types
enter the lives of residents who live in our area senior homes
on a weekly basis. Ceilidh also participates in the "Bite
free" program. With this program they go into schools
and organizations like Sparks and Brownies and teach children
how to approach dogs in the proper way.
Thank you Susan for giving Ceilidh such a wonderful home!

Hiddencreek Brittanys: Barbara Bownridge
Gem has multiple Group wins, including two Group Firsts and
a recent Best In Show at Burlington Kennel Club. He also won
an award of Merit at the Brittany Club of Canada National
Specialty. Last year, with very limited showing, Gem was number
five Brittany in Canada. Gem has begun his agility training
and we plan to begin some field work with him. Gem is truly
a “gem” and is a very much loved part of our family. |

Even after a near fatal car accident in Aug. 2005, and having
a torn cruciate, dislocated hip and a ruptured bladder, Solomon
walked away with the Award of Merit out of the veterans class
at our BSCO Specialty on Aug. 11, 2006.
Considering there were 12 specials, he did a fabulous job.
At the time of his accident we opted out of the surgery and
went with 6 weeks of cage rest and some homeopathic remedies.
Even at nine, he still moves like a dream and has a temperament
to die for.

We have added a new breed to Hidden Creek The Papillon (the butterfly dog) is of the toy group. They require no grooming and are usually between 5 and 7 lbs. They are a hardy little dog that doesn't mind the cold and are happy to run with the Brittanys. I have never seen myself with this small a dog but I am quite enjoying them. I will be breeding them in conjunction with an agreement with their breeder and we will see how it goes.
No, I'm not going to stop breeding the Britts, they are the love of my life. |

Drying coats
For those dogs with hard to manage coats. If you are
tired of having to pin a towel on and find it has shifted
or pins have come out, try our drying coats.
They are made of double thickness quality terry, double
belted to keep coats in place. When used directly after
a bath and hair is allowed to dry with coat on, dog's
coat will dry nice and smooth.
To fit medium size dogs 30 to 40 pounds $40.00 plus shipping.
Smaller or larger sizes can be purchased on special order.
